Every morning for the past 3 years or so, I start my day with a cup of coffee and a Peanut Butter Banana Clif Bar. I love them, they are like having a pastry that I have convinced myself is better for me than a bear claw. When I have to go to the office before I have finished my treat I haul the coffee, the Clif bar, my sippy cup full of water and my ridiculously heavy bag that I haul more crap aound than Mary Poppins, plus the 2 dogs that now go with me everywhere, to the car. Once you get there you have to push the button to open the door for the dogs, unplug the car and get in - most of this while juggling all of the aforementioned items. This morning in the process I spilled my coffee down the front of me and get to spend the day smelling like Juan Valdez. Because I have self diagnosed ADD and can't focus on one thing at a time, I generally make calls while I drive - so picture one hand alternating between the drinks and the bar and one hand on the wheel while I am talking on the phone and driving over Mt St Helena, I should start sending out an alert when I leave my house so you all know to stay off the road! Anyways, when I reached the office I couldn't find what was left of my bar and fortunately it had fallen out of the car when I got out. The last time that happened I just assumed I had finished it and forgotten, so I went about my day. I started with the office meeting, then walked to Calistoga Spa for a chamber board meeting and heaven knows where else or how many people saw me. When I returned to the office I noticed my office chair was sticky so I felt the back of my pants. To my dismay, located at the top of my leg was what was left of my chocolate nut filled bar stuck to my jumpsuit. All day and not one person told me. I am going on the assumption that no one noticed and leaving it at that. We had quite the laugh in the office and many days since. I am just grateful that I learned that valuable life lesson and hopefully will not make that mistake twice.
